Check out our Livestream with Ocean Voyages Institute! Please help them expand their critical clean-up work in the world’s gyres, and support a second leg THIS JULY to remove additional tons of toxic plastics from the North Pacific Ocean by donating here: https://www.oceanvoyagesinstitute.org.

We were honored to be joined by Mission Resolve Foundation’s Co-Founder and Ocean Voyages Institute’s Founder, Mary Crowley and some of her team, such as Captain Locky MacLean, Ocean Conservationist who has spent the last two decades directing ocean conservation and disaster relief campaigns around the world; Charles Hambleton, a filmmaker, ocean advocate, environmentalist, diver, RYA Yachtmaster, and an FAA licensed UAV pilot. Charles is one of the producers and cinematographers for the 2010 Acadamy Award-winning documentary, The Cove, and was a Sailmaster and Marine Department on four the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise movies; Dr. Barry Rock, Director of Science & Education at Mission Resolve Foundation; Joe Farell, Resolve Marine Group Founder and Co-Founder of Mission Resolve Foundation.

They discussed the effective projects the Institute currently has underway. The first clean-up voyage of this year will be returning from the North Pacific Sub-Tropical Gyre to Hawaii on June 23rd with a cargo hold full of plastic debris. Locky, Charles, and Mary are looking to bridge a funding gap to make their next voyage to the Gyre possible for July and will be happy to share Ocean Voyages Institute’s future plans. Ocean Voyages is also looking for Drone Pilots and Captains traveling throughout the Pacific to aid in their extraordinary cleanup work.
